Here is a showcase of some of my completed/nearly completed projects.
This was an interactive simulation for the Microsoft Windows XP Pro(SP2) that was created while I worked at LocalNet. The computer terminals at LocalNet were all Linux based and this presented a problem because most of their customers used Windows XP based systems. The purpose of this program was to create a virtual envrionment where you had the ability to "Use" the XP OS.
If you told the customer to "Click on the start menu", you could follow along and click on the start menu with them. This assisted new Tech Support employees to become familiar with the operating system and even helped guide senior agents through areas of the OS that they were not familiar with.
This is by no means a complete version of the windows XP operating system(are you kidding, the OS is massive). It does however allow you to access every area of the computer where someone might need to go in order to address potential problems with Dialup internet service as it applies to Windows XP.
This program is 100% browser based, and by that I mean it uses ONLY XHTML, JavaScript, and CSS. I was not allowed access to any server resources in the creation of this program and as such was only able to rely on browser support. Due to this issue I was only able to ensure with 100% assurance that the browser would work in FireFox 1.5+. It also works with Internet Explorer 8, when not in Compatibility Mode. Feel free to check it out…
